Highways
Ledyard is accessible by Interstates 95 & 395 and State Route 2. Two thoroughfares run north-south through the town: Route 117 in Ledyard Center and Route 12 in Gales Ferry. Both connect with Route 2 to the North and Interstate 95 approximately two miles south of the town border. Route 214 runs east-west through the town connecting Routes 12, 117 and 2.
Rail
For industrial use, Providence & Worcester RR runs along Thames River on west side of Ledyard. There is a spur onto the property of Dow Chemical at Allyn's Point
Amtrak - regional rail servicing Northeast Corridor from Washington DC to New York City to Boston with stops in New London. Shoreline East - commuter rail with connection to Metro North in New Haven and continuing service to New York City.
Bus
Greyhound and Peter Pan buses with stops in New London and at major casinos. SEAT local bus service through Ledyard Center and Gales Ferry to Norwich and New London.
Ferry
Ferry service from New London to Long Island, Block Island and Fishers Island year-round.
Air
Groton / New London Airport in Groton serves corporate and general aviation. Two commercial airports are approximately 50 miles away from Ledyard: TF Green (Providence, RI) and Bradley (Windsor Locks, north of Hartford). Most major national carriers serve both airports and Bradley offers European service.
