On April 4, 2008 at approximately 0203hrs the Ledyard Police Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, and the Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad responded to Long Cove Rd. near Conrad Court for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. A lone occupant of the vehicle was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the L&M hospital with serious injuries. The Ledyard Police Department Accident Investigation Team and Detective Division responded to assist it's Patrol Division with this investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sgt. On April 9, 2008, Ledyard Police Detectives traveled to Worcester District Court in Worcester, Massachusetts to take custody of :OYOLA, Pasqual DOB 01/15/636 Dwight Street Apt 11Chicopee, MAOYOLA was being held in Massachusetts as a Fugitive from Justice pursuant to an arrest warrant held by the Ledyard Police Department. The warrant alleges that between January and April of 2005, OYOLA sexually assaulted a 12 year old girl in the Town of Ledyard.OYOLA was transported to Troop E and charged with the following crimes:Sexual Assault in the First DegreeSexual Assault in the Fourth DegreeRisk of Injury to a MinorOYOLA was held on a $250,000 court set bond and will presented in court at GA 10 New London on 04/10/08.

On April 11, 2008 the Ledyard Police Department Detective Division served an arrest warrant charging Ms. Cynthia Cross, currently incarcerated at the York Correctional Facility, with Larceny in the 1st degree. This arrest stems from a complaint made by the Ledyard Alumni Association to the Ledyard Police regarding money missing from accounts controlled by CROSS while she was the treasurer of the association. She was presented to the New London Superior court after her arrest.

On April 10, 2008 at approximately 2:40pm the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Pumpkin Hill Rd near Deer Lane. On the arrival of the police, along with the Ledyard Fire Department District 1, Ledyard Volunteer Ambulance Squad and the L&M Paramedic, a vehicle was found to have struck a tree and rocks. On April 13, 2008 @ approximately 1550hrs the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a security alarm activation at the Ledyard High School located at #24 Gallup Hill Rd in Ledyard. Responding Patrol Officers, along with a Police Canine, located four youths inside the bomb shelter section of the school. Three juveniles received summons to appear in juvenile court for the charge of Trespass in the 1st degree. A 16 year old Youthful Offender was also charged with Trespass in the 1st degree. He was released from custody and will appear at GA 10 New London.
